Speaking out
The Parliamentary Forum for Democracy assists its members to speak out in support of democracy with a united voice, for example via petitions, simultaneous resolutions in several parliaments, media releases and Parliamentary Forum for Democracy official resolutions.
Parliamentary Forum for Democracy members call attention to undemocratic practices, political repression, and human rights abuses in non-democratic countries, and serve as a solidarity network that provides political support for those who seek to bring democracy’s benefits to their countries.
The Parliamentary Forum for Democracy has assisted its members to speak out in support of democracy in the following ways:

Members of the Parliamentary Forum for Democracy have welcomed the election of Aung San Suu Kyi to the Parliament of Myanmar over the weekend. Ms. Suu Kyi, who spent most of the past 22 years under house arrest, is set to enter parliament for the first time.
